Dieterich school board members heard this week about various successful holiday basketball tournaments at their venues.

Junior-Senior High School Principal Scott Kocher reported the girls champion was North Clay, with Dieterich placing sixth, and the boys champion was Newton, who defeated Dieterich in the championship game.

Members of Mammoser's junior high state championship team were on hand to present their former coach with mementoes of his time at Dieterich schools.

The Dieterich board renewed membership in the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce for 2018; updated the district bullying policy to add Kocher as a complaint manager; and accepted a Secretary of State library grant of $750.

The Board also hired Sarah Dust as an elementary aide.
