Several area junior high boys and girls basketball coaches earned Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year honors.
Junior high boys coaches were Callaway Campton (Dieterich) in 7AA, Doug Smith (Teutopolis) in 7AAA, Trent Jansen (Effingham Sacred Heart) in 8A and Kent Niebrugge (Teutopolis) in 8AAA.
Girls coaches named were Jayme Petty (Sigel St. Michael) in 7A and 8A and Dana Pasley (Brownstown/St. Elmo) in 8A.
