Ryan Rich and his family were special guests at the April Board Meeting. The Board recognized and honored Ryan for his outstanding achievements in the State Academic Challenge. Ryan placed 1st in Computer Science and 1st in Math. Way to go Ryan! We are proud of you!

Senior Spotlight: Cody Koester

Fourth graders learned important leadership skills from State Representative Adam Niemerg. They asked great questions about what it takes to be a government leader. Representative Niemerg shared interesting facts about his job and how he uses his job to help people.

Today the State Competition of the ACES Academic Challenge was held at Eastern Illinois University. Congratulations to Ryan Rich for placing first overall in both Computer Science and Math! We are very proud of you!

Senior Spotlight: As the school year comes to a close we would like to recognize the DHS Class of 2024. We have asked the seniors to share some information about themselves so we can honor each of them. These "Senior Spotlights" will be posted each day through the remainder of the school year. Please leave words of encouragement for each student. As a community let's recognize the DHS Class of 2024!

Our 6th graders have been performing how-to speeches this week. Today, Mrs. Faller's class learned how to tie a goat with a special guest appearance!

All of our students had the opportunity to view our solar system and a solar eclipse in the Star Lab this week! Thanks to Mrs. Field and Mrs. Niemerg for running the Star Lab! Bring on Monday and the eclipse!

Just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday April 8th. Dieterich's "Party in the Path" event will take place both Sunday and Monday. Sunday will feature food trucks at 2pm, Star Lab at Wright Family Center from 2 to 7pm, inflatables from 3 to 7pm, a Solar Panel of Experts at 4pm and 5pm at Wright Family Center featuring Channel 3 Meteorologist Seth Bohnhoff, Lake Land College Physics Instructor Daniel Allen, and Megan Candelaria from the Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium, and music by "Flight 50" from 6 to 9pm. Monday will include food trucks , music by "Hip Huggers" from 11am to 2pm, inflatables from 11am to 4pm, and the Total Eclipse at 2:02pm. Enjoy the Eclipse!
