Dieterich Schools are, once again, rated EXEMPLARY, by the Illinois State Board of Education! Exemplary is reserved for the top 10% of schools in the state. What are Illinois’ Annual Summative Designations? Illinois has four annual summative designations: Exemplary, Commendable, Targeted, and Comprehensive. • Exemplary recognizes the highest performing 10 percent of schools. • Comprehensive identifies the lowest performing 5 percent of schools. • Targeted identifies schools whose performance is overall above the lowest performing 5 percent of schools but that have one or more individual student groups whose performance is on par with the lowest performing 5 percent of schools. • All other schools receive a Commendable designation.

Thanks to everyone that bought a pork burger a few weekends ago from the auto club. We were able to purchase a borescope for our class. It's an inspection camera that enables the user to look into places they typically wouldn’t be able to see. Today the students used it to look inside the spark plug holes of different engines to examine the quality of the cylinders. Thanks again for supporting the auto club and enabling us to purchase new tools for the students!

On Thursday, October 6th, we will not have enough drivers to cover all routes. We will be dismissing students who ride on the hazard route to leave school at 2:55 so that they can be taken home and the driver can make it back to take an out of town route at the usual dismissal time. This will only effect those students living in town who ride the hazard route. We apologize for the inconvenience, if you are unable to make arrangements for your child during this time please contact the elementary office.
