For every cap entered, Dieterich CU #30 Junior/Senior High Library Club receives 5-cents to go towards adding books to our libraries. Look for the Our Caps, Your Cause stickers located on the caps of Prairie Farms milk in gallon or half gallon sizes. After 1,000 caps are entered, Prairie Farms Dairy will send a check to Dieterich CU #30 Junior/Senior High Library Club. “Dieterich Library Club will be using the funding to purchase library books for our schools’ libraries as well as helping Dieterich village add Green Tree Plastics ABC Promise Partnership benches to the town,” said Mary Richars, District Librarian.

Our Preschool classes did a Humpty Dumpty egg drop today with Ms. Doan and Ms. Hagen!

SCHOOL CALENDAR CHANGES
The following Remote Planning Days have been added to the calendar for this school year.
• Thursday, October 22nd
• Wednesday, November 25th
• Friday, February 12th
• Thursday, April 1st
A Remote Planning Day is a day for teachers and staff to prepare for delivering remote learning, as well as in-person learning. There is NO STUDENT ATTENDANCE, including remote learning, on Remote Planning Days.
The remainder of the calendar will remain the same.
Just a reminder that the After School Program is open only on school days, therefore, the ASP will not be open on these dates.
The DHS Cheer and Dance Teams are raffling off 10 great prizes. The drawing will be held November 13th so if you win you can use them as Christmas gifts! Tickets are $5 each, 3 for $10 or 8 for $20. If your name is in there multiple times it can be drawn for more than one prize.

To allow for travel time for the traveling team we have pushed the JH Softball Regional Championship game time back one hour. The game will be played at 11:00a.m. Saturday, September 26th, at Dieterich High School.

A group of Effingham area business leaders recently presented Austin Ruholl of Dieterich High School the September award for Mathematic/Scientific scholastic achievement known as Hall of FAME, which represents Fantastic Area Mathematicians (Scientists) Extraordinaire.
Austin was selected by his school staff based on preset standards for his high academics in science & math. Presenting the award are Michael Tappendorf of Milano & Grunloh Engineers, Sarah Wright of Effingham Urology Associates, Austin Brian Henning of Full Circle Realty, & Pat Gebben of Merz Heating & Air Conditioning. Sponsors not able to attend were Joe’s Pizza and H & M Concrete Construction. Austin’s plans are to attend Lake Land College then go on to a larger school to study Nuclear Engineering.
The leadership of these businesses knows that excellence in academics play an important part in the growth and vitality of our area and wish to encourage the scholastic endeavors of our leaders of tomorrow.
Today's JH Softball game with Beecher City has been canceled (9/10). We have added a game tomorrow (9/11) with Altamont at Dieterich at 4:00.
