
What a great night! It was wonderful to have so many of the members of the first women's teams attend the Hall of Fame reception and ceremony.

2020 NTC Boys Tournament, January 28- February 1, Altamont HS.


Due to inclement weather the JH Boys 8th Grade NTC Tournament has been postponed. Dieterich will no longer play on Saturday but will now play at 8:00 p.m. Monday the 20th. The player bus will leave at 6:00.

Tonight’s HS Boys Basketball game vs. South Central has been postponed due to the threat of inclement weather. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 25th. The Fr/So game will begin at 5:00 with the JV and Varsity Games to follow. Hall of Fame Night will be rescheduled for that evening as well, with the reception from 4:00-6:00 at the Dieterich Kluthe Center and the ceremony to follow between the JV & Varsity games.

The Jr/Sr High Christmas concert has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 21st at 2:00 P.M. in the HS gym. Due to the numerous activities scheduled during the month of January we are unable to hold the concert during the evening hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope that many people can still attend the concert. We hope to offer a live video stream for those who are unable to make the concert. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this situation.

Students from Mrs. Pals 5th grade class helped Mrs. Richars sort through caps and lids collected for Mrs. Miller's memorial bench that will be made at Green Tree Plastics. Just a reminder that only plastic caps and lids are accepted for this project. Thank you!

The Stang Art After School Program will be Wednesday, January 22nd.


Friday, January 17th is Hall of Fame night. We encourage all current Hall of Fame members to come back and welcome our new inductees into the Hall of Fame. This year we will be inducting Jamie VanScycoc and Alex Wright. We are also honoring the first women's teams in Volleyball, Track, Softball, and Basketball. There will be a reception at the Kluthe Center prior to the ceremony. The reception will be from 4:00-6:00 and we invite all current Hall of Fame members, this year's inductees, and all members of the first women's teams to attend the reception and ceremony. If you are planning on attending contact the school at 217-925-5247. Please help us spread the word about this special night!

Dana Homann with U of I extension had a great STEM activity with our 6th grade students yesterday. The students had to solve problems to unlock multiple layers of a lock box!

Wabash Communications will be live-streaming the DHS Boys Varsity basketball game tonight against Flora. To access the live stream go to YouTube and search for the "Wabash Catch TV" channel. The game should pop up when it starts. You can subscribe to that channel and receive notifications whenever a game begins.

The first two days of the Holiday Tournament have concluded. The schedule for Day 3 is set, come out Saturday and enjoy some great high school basketball!
