The 4th graders had a special surprise visitor this week. Meteorologist Seth Bohnhoff came to talk to the student about his career path from Dieterich to WCIA 3 News. The fourth graders just finished a Science unit over hazardous weather. They had lots of good questions and learned about many new helpful weather related topics.

Thank you to the veterans of the 40 and 8 who visited the 1st graders today to give them each a flag. The 40 and 8 have been presenting flags to the 1st graders in Effingham County for over 65 years!

Please note the following baseball & softball game that are cancelled for today at Dieterich:

Today, Dieterich Jr/Sr High School had the opportunity to listen to Lonnie Bedwell. Lonnie is a veteran, extreme sports athlete and motivational speaker. He lost his vision in a hunting accident in 1997, however that did not stop him from living life. In 2015 he was named the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year and became the first blind person to kayak the Grand Canyon. He has also climbed Mt. Everest, and last December hiked to the South Pole. Lonnie is truly an inspiration and has proven that with hard work and perseverance anything is possible.
